I am very commited teacher and a very busy mother. My life is incredibly full and active. When I was diagnosed with asthma over two years ago, it was very upsetting. The specialist I saw at the hospital said I would be on asthma meds every day for the rest of my life. The meds had all sorts of unpleasant side effects, but this specialist implied that trying alternatives could be a risky proposition and the sense was that I would be taking unnecessary risks if I went off the prescribed medication. My family and I were afraid.

Working with children all the time I come in contact with lots of "bugs" and all sorts of other potential lung irritants, and being on the prescription asthma meds indefinitely, felt like I was compromising my health and well-being in other ways, so I was compelled to find an alternative solution. I am finally compelled to write and thank-you because I just got safely through a nasty cold/flu with no signs of the asthma. I had a sore throat and congestion followed by a mild fever, a cough, headaches and a very runny nose...but no asthma...and no unpleasant medications. It is the first time I have gotten through a cold without using my puffer. At the first sign of the cold I started taking the Respiracton. I only took two days off work and the weekend to recover.
